This content will be presented in engaging, objective formats to the population at large, under the Raising Children initiative.

Improving the lives of Australian children

The Foundation's initiatives are designed to help create safe, enriching environments so all Australian children can flourish into confident, healthy, compassionate adults. By targeting our projects at the key agents of change in a child's life — parents — it is hoped the Foundation will make a major contribution towards the prevention of child abuse, neglect, suicide, self-harm and substance abuse.

Bringing the Science of Parenting to the people

Parents are the essential ingredient in improving children’s lives, however, despite popular belief, parenting skills don’t always come naturally and there tends to be a lot of conflicting advice when it comes to practical information.

By making a definitive resource for quality assured information and resources avaliable to parents and carers, the Foundation can help improve parent confidence and engagement which can, in turn, enable them to provide the best possible environments for children. By providing information about child development and the cause and effect of different parenting strategies, parents have the opportunity to apply their own analysis and reason to issues they face. That's what we call "Parenting Science".

Parenting Science enables people to make informed choices about how they want to raise their children.
